Our History
Ottaway Communications Inc. was founded in 1982 by Bob Ottaway in Lansing, MI, with the acquisition of WMMQ FM. The widely successful station played a key role in pioneering the Classic Rock radio format.
After selling the station in 1992, Bob moved into media buying and consulting before founding Ottaway Digital in 1999. Shortly thereafter, he established Detroit Website Design.
Bob observed that consumer behavior was changing because of online media. With Ottaway Digital, he expanded his company’s services to include SEO, website design and development. He also added search engine marketing and other solutions like social media marketing and ecommerce to Ottaway Digital’s offerings.
